Spain — The Dispatches
Granada
The last Moorish kingdom in Spain, which held out until 1492 — its sultan handed the keys of the Alhambra to Ferdinand and Isabella that January. The red palace up on the hill with its courtyards and fountains, the whitewashed Albaicín climbing opposite, free tapas with every drink, and the Sierra Nevada behind it all. Andalucía at its most Moorish.
