Andalucía's hot, ornate capital, built where a great mosque once stood — its minaret still towers over the city as the Giralda, now the bell tower of the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Tiled plazas and orange trees, the Mudéjar Alcázar, flamenco in the back streets, and heat like a furnace by August. Loud, and gorgeous with it.
